Feeling Overwhelmed, Anxious, or Stuck?
Do you find yourself caught up in worry, struggling to switch off, or feeling overwhelmed by your thoughts and emotions? Perhaps you’re avoiding things you’d like to do, struggling with low confidence, or finding that anxiety or low mood is getting in the way of the life you want to live.
CBT can help. We’ll work together to understand what’s keeping you stuck and develop practical, evidence-based tools to help you manage difficult thoughts and emotions, change unhelpful patterns, and move towards the things that matter to you.
Whatever you’re struggling with, we’re here to help you find a way forward.
How Does CBT Therapy Work?
How CBT works
CBT is a practical, evidence-based approach that can help you understand what’s keeping you stuck and develop new ways of responding to difficult thoughts, feelings and situations.
Throughout therapy, you’ll learn practical skills to manage your symptoms, break unhelpful patterns, and respond to life’s challenges more effectively. But the aim isn’t simply to feel better in the short term. It’s about helping you build the confidence and skills to create lasting change.
By the end of therapy, you can expect to have a better understanding of yourself, greater confidence in managing difficult thoughts and emotions, and the tools to continue moving forward independently.

What Our Clients Say
Working with Tom has been an absolute pleasure. His professionalism and ability to make you feel calm and welcome when disclosing some of your deepest and uncomfortable feelings without judgement or prejudice was something i am truly grateful for. I can't recommend Tom enough and he really helped me through a moment in time when all you needed was a chance to be heard.
Tom was really easy to open up to and made me feel comfortable from the very beginning. He listened carefully and without judgment, which made it clear he truly understood my perspective. He has a way of explaining things clearly and thoughtfully, making even complicated ideas easier to follow. He also shared practical tools and insights that have helped me in my day-to-day life.
Tom has been so helpful in helping me to break down challenging thought patterns and ensures his sessions are enjoyable, practical and tailored to you. I was sceptical about applying CBT techniques before working with Tom is great at weaving them in in a way that feels completely natural and easy to take forward beyond the sessions. Highly recommended!

They may simply feel tired, unmotivated, disconnected, or unlike themselves at work. Here are some signs you may be experiencing workplace

Examples of Low Self Esteem in Real Life Situations
Low self-esteem often stems from early experiences or ongoing stress that subtly influence how a person views their self-worth. Over time, these moments can shape a person’s self-confidence and cause them to doubt their abilities in ways they may not be aware of. These patterns don’t always manifest dramatically; they often manifest in small, everyday behaviours. The examples below demonstrate how low self-esteem can manifest in real life and help readers recognise low self esteem signs in themselves and others.
Reasons for Low Self-Esteem in Adults, Students, and Children
Low self-esteem is something that many people face at various stages of life. It can insidiously influence the way we think, feel, and interact with others, often preventing us from reaching our full potential. What many don’t realize is that self-esteem challenges can appear in childhood, continue through student years, and even carry into adulthood. In this article, we’ll explore how self-esteem develops across these stages and why understanding its roots is an important step toward positive change. Causes of

HOW DO I KNOW IF I WOULD BENEFIT FROM THERAPY?
Many people wonder whether their difficulties are “serious enough” for therapy. The truth is, therapy isn’t just for people experiencing a mental health crisis. It can be helpful for anyone who feels stuck, overwhelmed, anxious, low in mood, or simply wants a safe, supportive space to better understand themselves.
Therapy offers an opportunity to talk openly without fear of judgement. Together, we’ll make sense of what’s keeping your difficulties going, develop practical coping strategies, and work towards meaningful, lasting change using evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT).
HOW LONG DOES EACH ONLINE CBT SESSION LAST?
Sessions last 50 minutes.
Each session provides time to check in on how you’ve been since we last met, explore any difficulties you’ve experienced, and work together to understand the thoughts, emotions and behaviours that may be maintaining them. We’ll identify practical strategies or exercises to try between sessions, and we’ll review these together at the following appointment so we can build on what’s working and adapt anything that isn’t.
Therapy is a collaborative process, and we’ll work at a pace that feels comfortable for you.
How can I refer myself for therapy?
Getting started is simple.
Complete the contact form on our website with a few details about yourself, a brief summary of the difficulties you’re experiencing, and what you’d like to achieve through therapy. You can also let us know whether you’d prefer online or in-person sessions, your preferred days and times, and if you have any preferences regarding the therapist you’d like to work with.
We’ll usually get back to you within 24 hours to discuss availability and, where appropriate, match you with the therapist best suited to your needs.
How can I check whether my therapist is professionally registered?
All of our therapists are fully qualified, accredited and professionally registered with the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP).
Professional accreditation means your therapist has completed extensive training, demonstrated competence in delivering evidence-based therapy, and is committed to ongoing professional development to ensure they continue providing high-quality care.
You can verify your therapist’s registration at any time using the BABCP’s online register.
Where will sessions take place?
We offer both in-person and online appointments to make therapy as accessible and flexible as possible.
Our Bristol therapy rooms are conveniently located on Orchard Street, just behind the Hippodrome in Bristol city centre.
If you choose online therapy, you can attend sessions from anywhere that feels private and comfortable. We simply ask that you join from a quiet, confidential space with a reliable internet connection. Whenever possible, using a laptop or tablet rather than a mobile phone provides the best experience.
How does online therapy work?
Online therapy works much like meeting face-to-face, except from the comfort and convenience of your own home—or wherever you happen to be.
Sessions take place via secure video call and follow exactly the same structure as in-person appointments. Many clients are surprised by how quickly online therapy begins to feel natural.
In fact, online CBT can offer some unique advantages. Using screen sharing, we can work through formulations, worksheets and exercises together in real time, allowing you to leave each session with practical resources you can refer back to.
Research has consistently shown that online CBT is just as effective as face-to-face therapy for many common mental health difficulties.
Is the information I share confidential?
Yes. Everything you discuss in therapy is treated with the utmost respect and confidentiality.
Your clinical notes are securely stored in a GDPR-compliant clinical records system, and any handwritten notes made during sessions are securely destroyed once they’ve been transferred to your confidential record.
There are, however, a small number of exceptional circumstances where confidentiality may need to be broken. This would only happen if there were serious concerns about your safety or the safety of someone else, or where disclosure is required by law. Wherever possible, we would discuss this with you first.
Your privacy and wellbeing are always our priority.
How many sessions will I need?
This is one of the questions we’re asked most often, and the honest answer is that it varies from person to person.
As a general guide, many clients attend between 6 and 12 sessions, which is often enough to make meaningful progress with a specific difficulty. However, some people achieve their goals in fewer sessions, while others benefit from longer-term work, particularly if they’re dealing with multiple or more longstanding difficulties.
During your first few appointments, we’ll work together to develop a clear understanding of what’s bringing you to therapy and agree on some realistic goals. We’ll regularly review your progress together, ensuring you’re getting what you need from therapy and adjusting our approach where appropriate.
Our aim is never to keep you in therapy longer than necessary, but to equip you with the skills and confidence to become your own therapist over time.
How often will I need sessions?
For most people, weekly or fortnightly sessions provide the best balance between making steady progress and having enough time to practise the skills and strategies we discuss between appointments.
As therapy progresses, many clients find they need less frequent support. It’s common to gradually “ease off” by increasing the time between sessions, allowing you to build confidence in using what you’ve learned independently while still having the reassurance of ongoing support if needed.
Once you’ve completed your main course of therapy, you’re always welcome to book occasional check-in sessions. These can be a helpful way to maintain progress, troubleshoot any new challenges, or simply refresh the techniques you’ve found most useful.
Ultimately, we’ll agree a schedule together that best suits your needs, goals and circumstances.
How much does a therapy session cost?
£110 for a 60-minute session, whether in-person or online
