About Me & FAQs

About me

My journey to empowering men to reclaim their self-esteem and begin their journey of recovery began in 2010 when I first sought therapy for myself. From here, I have dedicated my career to supporting men to leading meaningful and fulfilling lives once again.

Meet_Tom

Hi, I’m Tom

I’m committed to providing the most effective, up-to-date, and scientifically backed psychological interventions to men who are experiencing Low Self-Esteem.

My intentions aren’t purely altruistic(!), in fact this is where my journey to better mental health began as well: down in the dumps, lacking direction, and no ability to see a way out.

Through therapy, I have learned the importance of speaking about my problems with a qualified professional and learning and applying the techniques needed to overcome my own mental health difficulties.

It’s been quite a journey, but now I am passionate and dedicated to helping other men find value and meaning in their lives, and guiding them on their journey to better self-esteem.

Holland-Pearse Psychotherapy is a specialist mental health service for men. I specialise in supporting men overcome a range of different psychological disorders.

I guarantee a friendly, approachable and non-judgemental environment where you can discuss your problems safely. We will work together on learning and applying CBT techniques to help you overcome the barriers that hold you back in life.

FAQs

We get asked a lot of questions about our online CBT service we offer companies and individuals, so we thought we would clear a few of these up in our commonly asked questions below. For any further information, do not hesitate to contact us by emailing tom@holland-pearse.com or calling 0117 456 2438.

The best thing to do is to firstly contact us. We will then arrange a telephone consultation with you. If together we agree that CBT Therapy would be the right counselling choice for you, we would go ahead and schedule the sessions.

Appointments are usually 50 minutes long and are held over zoom or the telephone.

You can refer by sending us a short email or leaving us a voicemail with your name, contact number and a few sentences about your difficulties. You will then be contacted promptly by our team and a 10 minute telephone consultation set up.

To ensure your CBT therapist is accredited and practicing ethically, you will find their name on the BABCP list of accredited therapists by clicking here. The BABCP is the governing, accrediting body for all CBT therapists to ensure that their training has been sufficient, they receive routine supervision and that they provide only the most effective, up-to-date treatments available.

Our sessions are held online via Zoom or on the telephone, and therefore can be done within the comfort of your own home. All you need is a working device which connects to the internet or a telephone line, and a safe space where we will be able to talk with you in private.

Our online therapy takes place on the telephone or via Zoom. Both have been shown to have the same success rates as traditional face-to-face sessions as well. If using Zoom, all you need to do is download the app, and then wait for the link which I will send you on the morning of the appointment.

Everything you discussed with me will be stored on a GDPR-based system within 24 hours of the session taking place. This ensures that your information stays protected at all times. There are a few exceptions to confidentiality but I will discuss these with you in your first session.

Tom was a really fantastic support to me over the past 6 months. It really felt like he took the time to understand what was going on in my life and we worked together on practical ways to resolve some of the tensions. Aside from being a thoroughly nice guy, I had no doubt that he was in my corner and he was also prepared to challenge me where needed. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend his services.
